Writing Playlist- May 2015
As of late I have gone back to doing some of my own personal writing. It seemed like months since I had done so. It was starting to bother me how long I had gone without writing.
So all in all : Writer's Block SUCKS.
When I write I like to listen to music, I don't know why, it just puts me into the zone and motivates me to write. So I thought I'd motivate some of you in your writing and share some of my favorite music at the moment.
So anyway here is the music I've been listening to:
Coldplay- The Scientist (3 Monkeyzz Remix and Louise Cover)
Elle Eyre- We Don't Have To Take Our Clothes Off (Whipped Cream Remix)
Fall Out Boy- Immortals
Fall Out Boy- Uma Thurman
Greek Fire- Top Of the World
Helberg ft Cozi Zeuhlsdorff- The Girl
Hozier- Take Me To Church
Hozier-Work Song
Hozier Like Real People Do
Hozier-Arsonist Lullaby
Ruth B- Lost Boy
One Republic- Counting Stars
Clean Bandit-Rather Be
Shannon Saunders- Atlas
Tove Lo- Habits
Tove Lo- Talking Body (The Young Professionals Remix)
Vanic x Tove Stryke- Borderline
Young The Giant- Mind Over Matter (Stint Remix)
ENJOY!

Movie Vs. Book : The Perks Of Being A Wallflower

Vs
*DISCLAIMER: Opinions are that of my own and I totally respect if you feel differently, we all have different connections to stories, so be cool. Also potential Spoilers ahead*
I decided to do an new series on my blog, where I put the movie and book versions of a story head to head to figure out which is more superior. So for the very first installment I decided to pick The Perks Of Being A Wallflower.
The Perks Of Being A Wallflower was published in 1999 by author Stephen Chbosky and since it's publishing it has been considered a critically acclaimed young adult novel.
Over a decade later it was given it's very own film adaptation starring Logan Lerman, Emma Watson and Ezra Miller. The film was also directed by Stephen Chbosky, the original author.
The story follows introverted high school freshman Charlie, who finds the comfort and friendship he'd been looking for from two seniors, Patrick and Sam.
I thought that premise of the story of was great, it was nothing I had ever read or seen before. It didn't remind me of every other teen story out there. Both the book and movie showed the different layers of each character. All the characters had their faults and strengths. I feel in teen movies and books it is so easy to make the characters so linear, without possessing any personality or real purpose. So I thoroughly appreciated that they made the characters more like real high school students
Now onto which one I believe to be better. Personally, I feel the film adaption of the story is the better one. I know, you are probably yelling at me right now but hear me out.
For the most part both the movie and book were really on par with each other but I just felt that the movie version was so much better, for a couple reasons.
One reason I have is because as I was reading the book it barely kept my interest. I don't know if it is because of the way it's written (in a form of letters talking to a friend). Maybe it's just not my thing. I just felt like I was dying for the book to end, it didn't really make me feel a connection like I did with the movie.
Another problem I have is the fact that Charlie is really different in the book than he is in the movie. In the movie he's a shy introverted kid, who tries to stay quiet and invisible. In the book, Charlie is a ... well... for a lack of a better term, he is a cry baby. I swear you couldn't go a chapter without him talking about how he burst into tears recently.
Now I have no problem when a character cries, especially when it's someone like Charlie who is suffering from depression and anxiety and he's a teenager and teenagers are usually more emotional.
But in the book he cried some many times at little problems that it made his emotions seem less genuine when it came to bigger plot points. In the movie, Charlie cried two times (I think) and each time it made you feel his pain and showed the struggle he was feeling in side.
So overall I would definitely recommend the movie The Perks Of Being A Wallflower instead of the book.
Comment and let me know your thoughts and suggest some movies and books for me to review next!

Posting Schedule :)
I have not posted or done anything with this blog in almost a year. Bad, I know! So I decided I wanted to post on a more frequent basis. So I thought it would better to come up with a posting schedule :)
I think that best for me at this moment and time is to be posting three times a week, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. I've really missed writing in this type of style, so I'm really excited to get back into it.

A Bucket List : Something To Strive For
A hundred things to to do before I die.
I know a lot of people don't like to make Bucket Lists because they feel like it sets them up for disappointment when they end up not achieving every bullet point on their list.
I don't see a bucket list as a checklist but almost as if a motivation booster, something to strive for.
My bucket is filled with things that I want to do in my career path and things I just want to conquer and achieve.
You shouldn't feel like you have to do everything on your list. The most important thing is to stay motivated and make your bucket list and put all the things you want on it and don't worry about conquering every thing on that list because you will conquer everything in time and at your own pace.
So don't make bucket lists that are lists of things to do before you are thirty. Don't put a time limit because you'll just stress yourself out and not even enjoy all the things you're doing because you're doing it in a time frame.
So I thought I'd share three items on my bucket list.(In no particular order.)
(FYI a phantom camera is a camera that can film in super slow frames per seconds.)
So since I shared three items in my list, so In the comments tell me three of you'res I'd love to read it!
Bye Guys :)

My Week Of Motivation
So lately I've been kinda neglecting my blog (I've been queuing up posts for this blog but have not wrote a single word on any of them), and I'm really sorry about that. Lately it seems as though I've been become very unmotivated and that really angers. Not because the things I don't like doing(School, work) has unmotivated me and made me not want to do them but it's the things I love doing like reading and writing. Why am I so unmotivated?
It's because I'm spending all this time doing things I grudgingly don't want to do because I have to. When I finally get to what I like to do I don't have time or too tired or I'm so unmotivated to do it that I don't even bother and it makes me really angry.
I think that's the worst thing about the school system, they drill into you from day one that you have to meet their requirements and not fail them. What they don't understand they're failing you because they are not meeting your requirements for the proper education, your needs and interests. A student isn't a just a person, a student is a mind that wants to be fed and nurtured with knowledge.
That's why I think schools should focus on the things find interest in, rather than saying you need to take these class or you won't graduate.
So I've been unmotivated lately with everything like school, finals, writing, and anything that doesn't include me scrolling through my tumblr dashboard. So I figured maybe some of you are feeling the same way about school or work or finals and could use a motivation booster.
So for the next there will be a new post everyday titled 'Motivation Week'.
We'll get through our unmotivated funks together guys! See you guys tomorrow!
-Sarah :)
